Rosemary Roberts was born and raised in Elmhurst, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Her interest in design, greatly influenced by the regional architecture of Sullivan, Adler and Frank Lloyd Wright, eventually led to degrees in structural engineering and material science from the Universities of Illinois and Missouri, respectively. Raising two children provided the opportunity to explore the mechanics of handweaving. Rose has been a weaver for over ten years. She brings her Midwestern sensibilities and technical expertise to this craft - creating textiles inspired by prairie, form and function. |
